Shahram Shamsaee draws on over 25 years of Real Estate experience in the Middle East and the United States of America. Prior to the establishment of mSquared Shopping Centres, Shahram spent 11 years with Majid Al Futtaim Properties, one of the largest developer and operators of malls in the region.
As Senior Vice President of Shopping Malls and subsequently Asset Management, he led a team of 550 people in 4 markets and managed a portfolio of over 10,000,000 Square Feet in the MENA region.
Shahram has extensive development, design, leasing, marketing and property management experience. He is a graduate of the prestigious AMP program at Harvard Business School. Shahram has served as faculty for the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) School of Professional Development and currently serves on the ICSC Board of Trustees.
With over 15 years experience in the Retail Industry, Rashid has developed, leased and asset managed some of the Middle East's most successful shopping centres, and for some of the region's most respected mall owners, developers and operators. In that time, he has proven his ability to build and lead teams of professionals, delivering the regions' highest grossing sales per square foot shopping centres.
Rashid has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of three organisations to date: Emaar Malls Group, Emaar Retail (concurrently) and Meraas Malls and Hospitality. In this capacity, he built and led organisations that delivered the entire retail asset spectrum; community, regional and super regional malls.
Rashid graduated from the University of Denver in Colorado, USA with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, double majoring in Finance and Business Administration. He was recognized and awarded two honours for scholastic achievement. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) and the former President for the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC).
